ABOUT US
HISTORY
Womonspace was established in 1981 by a small group of women who
identified a need in the Edmonton lesbian community for women's
social events, held in a safe and positive environment. After
many months of planning the first dance was held in September
1981. Since that time Womonspace has grown through volunteerism
to hold six dances each year and organize many other social
events.
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Womonspace provides opportunities for lesbians to interact and
support each other in a safe environment, and contribute to the
broader community.
VISION STATEMENT
A strong and supportive lesbian presence in the community.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
Womonspace is a non-profit organization made of volunteers.
The Board of Directors consists of a President, Vice-President,
Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Director, Public Relations
Director, Newsletter Director, Activities Director and a Volunteer Coordinator. There
are also a number of other volunteers who fulfill significant
functions to help us achieve our goals.
Our Annual General Meeting is held during the month of
October.
